Using film, the aim of the presentation was to create awareness about the pain caused by silence of homosexuality.

The short film called “The son and the heir” is a documentary I filmed this year in Manchester. The work tells the story of one gay man from the Middle East and is an explorations is an exploration of the trauma caused by years of silence. But if he would reveal his sexuality in his country, he could face humiliation and death.

As an adult and settled in the UK, the protagonist has the opportunity to be honest for the first time in his life, but he has to work to come to terms with his family.  The Son and the Heir is a film about silence and the negation of the self.

Penalización de la Homosexualidad

A través del uso de film, el objetivo de la presentación es crear conciencia sobre el dolor que causa el silencio de la homosexualidad.

“The son and the heir” es un corto-documental que filmé en Manchester este año. El trabajjo es una exploración de los traumas de un hombre homosexual causado por años de silencio. Pero si el hubiera revelado su sexualidad en su país, hubiera sido humillado y asesinado. Ya como adulto y en un nuevo país, el protagonista puede ser honesto por primera vez en su vida, pero tendrá que encontrar una forma de hacer las paces con su familia. “The son and the heir” es un documental sobre el silencio y la negación de sí mismo.
